🌟Children with Dyslexia 🌟

At the heart of my tutoring practice is a deep commitment to helping children with dyslexia thrive. Over the past four years, I’ve worked closely with children in my sessions who struggle with reading, writing, and processing information -many without a formal diagnosis but showing clear dyslexic traits. Thanks to my extensive experience with a wide range of dyslexic learners, I’m able to spot these traits quickly and begin tailored support that builds confidence and lasting progress. While I primarily work with primary-aged children, many continue with me into high school when ongoing support is beneficial.

🧠 Understanding Dyslexia
Dyslexia affects how the brain processes language, but it doesn’t limit a child’s potential. With the right strategies, dyslexic learners can flourish. My goal is to unlock that potential through personalised teaching and consistent encouragement.

📚 Experience That Matters
I bring over 24 years of experience working with children with autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergences. For 11 years, I led pastoral support and taught the nurture group in a primary school setting. I’m also a parent to two neurodivergent children, giving me insight from every angle—professional, personal, and practical.

I’ve completed specialist training with Dyslexia Scotland and have developed a strong reputation for identifying dyslexia early. Many children I support arrive undiagnosed; every report I’ve written has led to a confirmed diagnosis following school assessments. I’m especially skilled at spotting dyslexia in children whose additional needs may have masked it.
Parents often come to me feeling their child is misunderstood or unsupported in school. I offer clarity, compassion, and expert guidance to help families take the next steps.

🤝 Working Together for Progress

Progress doesn’t happen in isolation -it’s a team effort. I work closely with parents to ensure strategies are reinforced at home. Weekly practice, overlearning, and revisiting skills are essential for long-term success.Homework is included in the session price and tailored to your child’s needs. Tasks are short and manageable to reduce stress, yet highly effective when done daily. With consistent support, children build confidence, independence, and momentum.

📝 Supporting the Journey
I help families by:

Equipping parents to support learning between sessions.

My mission is simple: to help children make real, measurable progress and feel proud of how they learn.
