Experience

I have 23 years experience teaching and supporting children with a range of additional needs and challenging behaviours. I am also a parent of two children with additional support needs.

I have 11 years experience working within a Mainstream Primary School setting, where I set up and taught a Nurture Group Class using Precision Teaching for Maths, Writing, Reading, Spelling and Cross Curricular subjects.

I was also the Lead Pastoral Support for the school and provided Class Teachers with strategies to support behaviour and learning for identified pupils.

I taught PSHE lessons and ran Drawing and Talking therapeutic sessions to support children with underlying emotional difficulties.

Over the years, I have regularly attended workshops and courses for supporting children with additional needs which have complemented my practical work.

I have been working as a Private Tutor for 3 years and currently have 40 students.
